The Crystal Skull Indy Bullwhip
Terry Jacka made the bullwhip used in the fourth installment of the Indy film series, and it had several significant differences from the prior whips made by David Morgan. The most profound change was the long, stiff transition which provides additional leverage. This model is a 20 plait "Tank" style bullwhip featuring 3 plaited bellies (8, 12 and 16 plait).
The handle foundation will be fiberglass unless otherwise requested to be steel to mimic the nose-heavy nature of its leather counterpart.
The finished handle diameter is about 7/8 of an inch, and the 10 footer weighs in at nearly 2 lbs, similar to the real Jacka Indy. The transition is reinforced by a combination of both heavy binding and tight plaiting. The transition reinforcement goes out to about 2 feet from the butt of the whip.
Be advised that this whip is nose-heavy, and may require some getting used-to if you're not accustomed to the style.
The whip also features a 4 plait wrist loop long enough to be tied into a figure-8 knot.
